About the Founder

The Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Amateur Athlete is a sports professional with over 25 years of experience in sports photography, editorial work, and high-level sports operations across Europe and South America. With a lifelong background in sport, he brings a deep understanding of athletic performance, movement, and competition. His experience includes track and field athlete and handball on elite level and endurance cycling. Also 10 years as Managing Director of a professeionel cycling team in Brazil, where he was responsible for development, organization, and competitive team structure.

He is also the founder of a national cycling club in Brazil, which grew to more than 3,000 members across the country and included a competitive elite team. Through this work, he helped introduce and develop the concept of structured cycling clubs in a market where this culture was still emerging.

As a sports photographer, he has built extensive experience covering major international and national events, including the Tour de France male & female, Tour of Scandinavia (women), Ironman Denmark , Copenhagen Marathon. He has also worked with organizations such as DGI and Danmarks Cykle Union, contributing to a wide range of sporting events and initiatives.

His work is driven by a strong belief in amateur and community sport as a powerful social force. Through Amateur Athlete, he focuses on documenting and promoting sport at all levels, highlighting the dedication, passion, and stories of everyday athletes.

With a unique combination of hands-on sporting experience, technical leadership, and visual storytelling, he brings an authentic and informed perspective to sports media and sports photography.
